The City of Richmond embeds conservation throughout their operations. This includes participating in BC Hydro’s Energy Management Assessment, incorporating higher energy performance into new and existing buildings, and pusuing sustainable energy sources.
University of British Columbia
UBC ecotrek program, a three-year lighting and mechanical upgrade, is Canada‘s largest-ever energy and water efficiency project. It’s estimated that ecotrek will reduce UBC’s total electricity consumption by 10%. They also developed a Sustainable Development Policy, setting 68 targets for improved social, ecological, and economic sustainability.
